Controlled Natural Language for Semantic Annotation
نویسندگان
چکیده
Sovereign is a novel collection of resources for authoring(1), annotating(2) and accessing(3) knowledge on the Social Semantic Desktop. With respect to (2), the Sovereign Semantic Annotator allows the non-expert user in a novel way to semi-automatically author and annotate meeting minutes and status reports simultaneously using Controlled Natural Language(CNL). The metadata is captured as knowledge on the Social Semantic Desktop for later aggregation and access. The annotator is based on Controlled Language for Information Extraction (CLIE) technology. Furthermore, it is available for as a plugin for a semantic note-taking application for the Social Semantic Desktop. We intend to present a working prototype of the Sovereign annotator for the Social Semantic Desktop at ESWC.

On Designing Controlled Natural Languages for Semantic Annotation
Manual semantic annotation is a complex and arduous task both time-consuming and costly often requiring specialist annotators. (Semi)-automatic annotation tools attempt to ease this process by detecting instances of classes within text and relationships between classes, however their usage often requires knowledge of Natural Language Processing(NLP) and/or formal ontological descriptions. This ...
متن کاملTowards a High-Level Controlled Language for Legal Sources on the Semantic Web
Accessing legal regulations and legislation on the web should be improved by semantic annotation of legal rules. However, producing this type of annotations is challenging because legal language is difficult to parse automatically and any annotation involves a part of interpretation. We argue that an extended controlled language must be defined to address that issue. We present aspects of a con...
متن کاملFurther use of Controlled Natural Language for Semantic Annotation of Wikis
Knowledge Acquisition through Semantic Annotation is vital to the evolution, growth and success of the Semantic Web. Both Semiautomatic and Manual Annotation are constricted by a knowledge acquisition bottleneck. Manual Semantic Annotation is a complex and arduous task both time-consuming and costly, often requiring specialist annotators. Therefore, automation of this process is essential to ea...
متن کاملOBA: Supporting Ontology-Based Annotation of Natural Language Resources
In this paper, we introduce OBA – an application for NLP-based annotation of natural language texts with ontology classes and relations. OBA provides support for different tasks required for semi-automatic semantic annotation. Among other things, it supports creating manual semantic annotations in order to enrich the set of lexical patterns, automatically annotating large corpora based on speci...
متن کاملOn- and Off-Topic Classification and Semantic Annotation of User-Generated Software Requirements
Users prefer natural language software requirements because of their usability and accessibility. When they describe their wishes for software development, they often provide off-topic information. We therefore present REaCT1, an automated approach for identifying and semantically annotating the on-topic parts of requirement descriptions. It is designed to support requirement engineers in the e...
